"I have to tell you that i saw this commercial this morning and I was intrigued. I decided against purchasing it because, like most As Seen On TV items, they're crap! BUT- I went with my daughter to 'The Big E' in Springfield, MA (a HUGE 'county' fair) and they had a booth there! So, my daughter tried it (Kee in mind she's 9 1/2 years old and has rather hairy legs. I have been using Nair on her legs for about 6 months). The girl used the large pad and started rubbing her leg in circles one way (about 4 circles) and then again in the other direction. The first thing I noticed was that it looked 'ashy'. Like after you file your nails...? Anyway, i brushed that aside and I got to be honest, her hair was gone! And her skin was very smooth and shiny afterwords. So, I can say that it does remove hair (painlessly) but I am saving my ultimate judgment for later. I want to see how long this hair takes to grow back and whether I deem it to be worth the money."
" haven't shaved my legs in over a week. So when I went to the Oklahoma City Fair today I wore pants. I saw a booth with the Smooth Away pads and had a demo done. I'm a red head with sensitive skin and very coarse leg hairs. I can honestly say this worked. It was painless and only took seconds. I can't wait to try my bikini area.
The lady working the booth did tell me to go in only one circular direction. You can not have moist or damp legs. And you can not have lotion or any other chemicals on your legs. You must have clean, dry skin."
"
are these the pads for hair removal? they don't work. I bought some on sale at the drug store, and I agree they sounded like a good idea but basically it was like rubbing a fine grit sandpaper against my skin. My skin got a bit red and no hair came off.
get yourself a good razor and shave.
if this is for facial hair tweezing or waxing is best."
"I bought them, they don't work good, plus all they do is rip the hair from it's follicle, yowza does it hurt! They feel like you're rubbing fine sand paper on your legs. You might as well just lay duct tape on your leg, and pull the hairs out!"
"Don't waste your money. This "system" does not work and may seriously damage your skin. It is nothing more than sand paper. I followed the instructions for use on the face, and was very raw for 3 or 4 days. Then the skin blistered and peeled, almost like a sunburn. To add insult to the injury, it did not remove any hair! "
"I canceled this product before I received it. The company continues to charge my account each month. It's a mess! Don't bother ordering through the infomercial. They carry the product everywhere. My niece has used it and says it doesn't work at all. In the meantime, they are abusing my credit card usage. "
"DGW, Being that you're new to posting I don't know if you'll check your messages here so am also posting because wanted to give you a suggestion about how to remedy the credit card abuse.
I had that happen to me once and what I finally did was ask the credit card company to change my card number, explained the situation and asked if they would remove all or most of the charges from that company. They immediately changed the number making it impossible for the company to add any further charges, did an investigation and removed all except the first charge :-)
I hope this information is helpful to you :-) Deeli :-)"
"Hi. I tried it. You are right, it works as an abrasive, similar to the way an emery board works on your nails. Unfortunately, it made my skin red and irritated, so I was only able to do a portion of one leg and never used it again. I was itchy and my skin felt raw for days. I normally don't have reactions like that but I did with this product. If you do try it, I hope you have a more successful experience than I did! (10/29/2008) "
"This is not the first time this product has come around. It's basically sandpaper and the product doesn't last very long because dead skin gums it up. As far as how long the shave lasts - no different than regular shaving methods"
